Carolina Forest

Carolina ForestNot that long ago — less than twenty years — the area now known as Carolina Forest was a vast forest bordered by the Intracoastal Waterway on the east and Highway 501 on the south. Today, Carolina Forest is one of the most popular new residential communities in the entire Myrtle Beach area.  Situated roughly halfway between Myrtle Beach and Conway on Highway 501, the area provides a unique location far enough from the hustle and bustle of downtown Myrtle Beach yet close enough to enjoy all the busy resort town has to offer.

Carolina Forest is a 9,000-acre landscaped community that features nearly two dozen residential subdivisions, its own high school, middle school, and elementary school in one of the most sought-after school districts in Horry County. As a result, the Carolina Forest area has seen growth in commercial businesses such as shopping centers, banks, medical and dental offices, a post office and more. Coastal Carolina University and Horry-Georgetown Technical College relocated minutes away. The community now boasts its own fire department, library, recreation center and a number of churches. It has all the earmarks of a nearly self-contained community.

The residential real estate communities offer homes and condos of varying sizes and price ranges, making it attractive for people looking to purchase their first home or for those seeking to upgrade. And, the many lakes, nature trails and Intracoastal Waterway views have been uniquely added to the design of many of the communities. The area features a number of well-known, quality home builders including Centex Homes, Beazer Homes, D. R. Horton, and others.

With scores of friendly resident neighbors, sidewalks for kids to walk or bike to school, and its secluded yet convenient location, Carolina Forest offers a home to fit nearly every budget, representing one of the best real estate investments in the Grand Strand area.

Carolina Forest includes hundreds of acres of defined preservation areas or natural conservation areas that cannot be developed. Because of this, there will always be a natural “buffer” between many of the Carolina Forest neighborhoods and future development. Residents love the beauty of nature and some of the more pristine forests their corner of the Myrtle Beach area has to offer.  The area also features several championship 18-hole golf courses and is in close proximity to another half-dozen or so along Highway 501.

Carolina Forest is just minutes away from nearly everything the Myrtle Beach and Conway communities have to offer. With easy access to Highways 17, 31 and 501 you’ll feel connected to all those areas feature, yet comfortably apart from it all. If you’re thinking of purchasing a home in the Myrtle Beach area, you should surely take a look and make a visit to the Carolina Forest area. You may be glad you did.
